Catholic “Evangelist” says Catholicism intellectually superior

Michael Voris spent time ‘evangelizing’ in the Philippines.  Protestants and Catholics publicly argue doctrine in the streets.

Voris claims the “protestants do not want honest dialogue and just want to argue.” He continues, “It is here the defenders (of Catholicism) do their most deadly work, deadly in terms of killing heresy.”

My comment:

This is a shame. The Philippines is well-known for the extreme Marian worship and statue veneration. Catholics also actually crucify themselves in the streets during “Good Friday.”

Could there be a sadder scene? This Philippine man tries to ‘suffer for his sins’ on the cross.

This is a rather common theme in the Philippines:

A Philippine man takes ‘Mary’ with him in the parade.
The crowd gathers around a black statue of ‘jesus’ on their shoulders, called the black Nazarene. They believe by venerating the statue, the sick will be cured and their sins redeemed.

This is the kind of idolatry Michael Voris defends against those preaching the true gospel of the Messiah. We need to pray for the bible believers that preach the truth to these poor people who cling to idols and live in darkness.  When Voris speaks of “the faith” he is talking about the Roman Catholic Church and all of her dogmas and Papal submission, he is not talking about the saving grace of the gospel-which these people so desperately need.

I have listened to many of his video clips. Catholic friends have also sent them to me, hoping he would persuade me to give up biblical Christianity and return to Rome.  All of the clips have a Jesuit-like theme about ‘Mother Church;’ pointing to her instead of pointing to Him, our Risen King.

As an ex-Catholic, I stand liberated from the false gospel of works. The Ladder I used to climb to  get to heaven has been torn down. In it’s place is the cross of Christ. There is nothing I can do except thank Him for what He has done for me. Let’s pray that these dear people in the Philippines can also be set free, destroying their idols to live in the freedom of Jesus.

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Matthew 24:5

For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
